13th-mmr2I often find that documentaries are hit and miss. Some come across as interesting and some miss the mark. Ava Duvernay absolutely hits the nail on the head with 13th.
The mix of history and recent/current events make this a must watch. Made all the more poignant when it reflects upon the unrest the appears to be rife across the US due to unlawful killing by police.
As usual, with anything that appears completely messed up, it is money that is causing all these issues. Lobbying and corporate greed is shaping the prison system in the US and is disproportionately affecting people of colour.
Watch this documentary, hear some educated and experienced people analyse what is going on and feel shocked at what is happening in this day andĀ age.
